Hi,
My uncle John has just died and in his things were the mention of
Lizzie Lloyd and bairns. They are connected to either
Buxton,Maclesfield or Silverdale, and to the Wills or Cope family. I
feel the Wills, as he took them to see my dad George Wills, at
Garstang. Lizzie I am sure is quite old but if you know anyone of that
name would you please get in touch. I am doing a Wills family tree.
Thankyou. She may have had a sister called Audrey and they were
cousin's to George and John(\jackas he was called) Sandra

Emigrated to Australia in 1972, aged 15, after living in
Buxton for 5 years. Lived on Rock Terrace, would like to know if the
Walkers are still at No. 2 and the Twigg's at No. 9. I know it's a long
time ago but you never know.....
Went to Buxton College; anyone remember ?
Thanks,
Dave

I am looking for any information regarding Thomas
Wheeldon born in Buxton around 1863. He was married three times, his
second wife was called Sarah and his third wife was Elizabeth Pugh.
He had thirteen children, the names that I know of are as follows, Jane, Edith, Joseph, May, Annie, Frank, Thomas and Agnes.
He moved to Manchester possibly around 1900 and his father was also
called Thomas. If anyone has any information I would be most grateful
if you would contact me.

My last name is Buxton, but my grandfather who is the
source of the Buxton name is long deceased, and we are unable to find
any other relatives of his.
His name was Herbert. I am only 1/4 English, but I have researched my
last name in some texts about English nobility, and found that Buxton
has a very extensive list of noble families.
The Buxton geneology is very murky, as my family is not sure when the
Buxtons came to America, and the only one to have any prestige (My
grandfather was a GM factory technician) is an extremely distant
relative who founded the Buxton Wallet company (Probably have some very
rich 8th cousins).
No effort has been made to trace my geneaology, and I was wondering if
the town had any rescources that could be accessed without travelling
there.

Am researching my family history and find that I have a
relative living on Macclesfield New Rd in 1881. He was a shoemaker
(John Moss). I have a feeling that he was born in Burbage.
Is this town part of or near buxton?
