The Columbine Restaurant is a small privately run restaurant in the centre of the Peak District main town of Buxton.


Steve and Kim McNally have run the restaurant for 14 years (after spending many years in guided restaurants and Country House Hotels).


Their aim is to use small local suppliers who can provide them first class produce which they serve in a variety of dishes from the à la carte menu. Full vegetarian menu and daily specials.

During the Christmas and festival seasons (July and August) the menus are added to with a set price table d'hôte menu.

Restaurant Opening Hours

May to October 7pm to 10pm (last orders), Monday to Saturday inclusive.
November to April, closed Tuesday, except in December.
Also open (for pre threatre only) on the first two Sundays of the opera festival in July

Pre and After theatre suppers available all year by prior reservation.



Location :
Positioned near the top of Hall Bank, opposite the slopes.
2 minutes walk from the Buxton Opera House.
1 minute from the Market Square and 4 minutes from Spring Gardens.
