Following service with several of the smaller class Klingon starships, he succeeded in serving as Chief Science Officer on the Qu'wa, a Vor'Cha-class warship, between 2363 and 2374 where his father was captain and formerly, commander of this ship. This gave him his grit for discipline, undoubtably developed from the harsh regime that came from serving in the Klingon fleet. Seconded to Starfleet and the USS Griffin in 2380 where he attained the rank as a full Lieutenant with dual roles, that as the ship's aCSciO and Liaison Officer to the Klingon High Command. In 2382 he was called back to serve with the KHC to advance their links with the Federation and then reassigned to the USS Dark Matter.
2383 : Time has stood still for the USS Dark Matter after being trapped in an alternate universe; and although five years have passed in the Alpha Quadrant, the crew has not aged for more than a few months.
Personal Information :
He talks very little about his early years on Qo'noS. His mother died when he was still very young, but he had very strong ambitions to join with his father's command. At age 18, both he and his blood brother Kolvok, shared their second right of ascension. A year later, he was to nurse a bitter revenge for his blood brother's death. However, his service with several Klingon ships prior to the Qu'wa helped him to eventually get beyond this gnawing and hate-filled "desire" for vengence.
As with most of the Klingon race, he has very strong beliefs in Sto'Vo'Kor, the one place he knows he will be reunited with his blood brother Kolvok, who was brutally slain whilst serving on the T'Acog in 2364.

I can best describe Gol'Khar as behaving much like any typical Klingon, with one main exception. He rarely loses his temper when confronted by aggressive situations. I have observed a calm deliberate sense of patience about his manner, whereby it has come to my attention that he has been known to instill fear into anyone who tries to confront him aggressively.
His experience prior to joining the Star Fleet academy, can be seen to be of positive benefit not only to us, but especially to those who chose to join the fleet and served with him during the same period. He had a lot of patience towards his fellow cadets, where-upon he has been more than able to build a particularly strong sense of camaraderie among those he has trained with.
Despite his calm outward appearance and outwardly friendly mannerism, there is however, a slightly dark side to his consciousness, one that I have been quite unable to penetrate. I subsequently believe it to be associated to the death of his blood brother, Kolvok, to whom he was very close. Apart from this, I can vouch for his abilities and the tremendous skills he has to offer to any of the fleet's ships.
Hobbies :
None as such. He rarely found time for what he observes as being such trivial futilities. His time outside his duties are spent in furthering his knowledge about the universe, its spacial phenomena and geological sciences in conjunction with the stars and planets. He enjoys creating senarios on the holodeck, but doesn't consider this to be anything other than honing his physical abilities when confronting an enemy, therefore he enjoys bladed combat.

He is passionate about his personal discipline and in having a healthy respect for those he comes into contact with. Unfortunatrly for some who come into contact with him, he often has the habit to speak loudly without realising that he is doing so.
Gol'Khar believes strongly about his Klingon traditions and vows to uphold the honour and name of his family, to the death. His family house consists of : Father: Hy'Ghar D'Saq. Mother: Lorqal (deceased) and siblings et al: Kolvok (deceased).
He dislikes the Ferengi and all they stand for. Believes that the Ferengi are predominantly two-faced and the least trustworthy of any other known race throughout the known galaxy.
As with most Klingons, he never turns his back on the opportunity for battle and armed combat. He also has a strong passion for eating and drinking, gagh and blood wine being at the top of his preferences. Despite his outward appearance, he has friends amongst those he serves with, and he thoroughly enjoys the company of women, that is, whenever he can find the time to get away from his other daily duties and pursuits.
