USS Dark Matter - Logs

March 2008 - Post Selection

ON : Revenge

Day: 01 Time:19.55
Scene: Somewhere Inside the Factory

Captain Gol'Khar's patience was beginning to wear a little thin as he tried in vain to locate the missing Administrator. There was no doubt in his mind, the man was as elusive as the sword of Kahless, and almost as valuable to him at this time. The Captain and his men had been searching for nearly two hours without any sign of finding their quarry, and while the factory consisted of many levels and rooms, Persson wasn't intelligent enough to continue to purposely evade him like this, and yet some how, he had.

Co'Marr remained fairly quiet as he entered each and every room not looked into by either the Captain or the others, and even to his way of thinking, he couldn't understand either, how the factory's administrator had managed to hide from them. He was beginning to think that the man had a charmed life, the sort of thing that only comes to those whom the gods protect, but this, he thought to himself, were the thoughts of the foolish. It was just at this moment, that Co'Marr thought he had heard the sound of voices.

"Captain... Someone comes, listen..." Co'Marr said as he stopped moving and put all he had into listening for whatever he thought he had heard.

"There are people coming towards us, but I doubt that Persson is among them, the tone is not right." Gol'Khar told him.

Almost as quickly as the sound of voices drifted towards their location, when they ceased altogether. The factory fell deathly silent once more, except for the drip of water and the scurrying of rodents along the corridor's walls.

As hard as the Captain bent his ear towards the former location of the voices, he could detect nothing any more, or at least nothing that shouldn't have been there. Then out of the silence came a familiar sound, that of a communicator being used.

"Did you hear that?" Gol'Khar enquired of his first officer.

"Yes, Captain. Someone has just used a com device, and it was in my estimation much further away than the sound of voices had been."

"Precisely. Come, we are wasting valuable time here. If Persson was anywhere in this factory, we would have found him long before now. It's time we returned to our ship, but first we need to lay our hands on a communicator, Co'Marr." Gol'Khar said as he began to think of a means of getting one.

"Persson always had one or two stashed away in his labs, it could be a good idea to try there first?" Co'Marr suggested as he met with the Captain's gaze.

Gol'Khar and his men walked off in search of a communicator, where their first stop would be the labs, then offices of the Administrator. It took only a few minutes to get to their objective, and while the Captain searched Persson's office thoroughly, Co'Marr and the others went through each of the labs one by one, where they were instructed not to leave anything unturned. As they eventually found out, much to their disgust, the Administrator had seemingly removed everything and anything that could be of some value to them. Gone was the latinum that they had earned with the sweat of many Dyermian brows. Gone too, were the many letters of credit that could have been useful in their travels. At this discovery, the Captain's rage was expressed by the deepest roar, a sound that echoed loudly around their section of the factory.

Fortunately, Co'Marr discover a communicator, but only then quite by accident more than design. A crate had been upturned and lay in a corner amongst a lot of useless debris, he thought to take a look underneath, where there was one of the communicators he'd seen Persson using in the past. "Captain?" He shouted as he swiftly made his way out and into the corridor.

Meeting with the Captain, whose features were darker than the furthest depths of space, he handed the communicator over.

"Good, now let's get back to our ship." He said.+Tap+"Captain Gol'Khar to the yo'qul." He called out impatiently. There was no reply. +Tap+"Captain Gol'Khar to the yo'qul, where are you, you mangy dogs?" Silence again. "Aarrgh!!! I'm surrounded by idiots." He cursed.

Then presently, +"yo'qul, Hym'Dagh here,.. Captain?"+ The bewildered officer called out.

"Beam us back to the ship before I have you placed in irons." Gol'Khar replied angrily.

Within a matter of seconds, the Captain and his men were back on board their ship. Gol'Khar wasted no time in rushing to the bridge where he found just one officer in charge.

"Where is everyone?" Gol'Khar demanded of the officer present.

"Apart from those who were with you, the rest are still on the Ferengi Marauder, Sir." He replied.

"What? Who said that they were to go there?" The Captain demanded angrily as he quickly took up his position in the central chair.

"I thought you had, Sir?" The officer suggested as he hadn't actually known whether he had or not.

"Gah!! I'm surrounded by fools. Get them back here immediately, and while you're about it, tell me where the Dark Matter is?"

The officer sent a communication to the Ferengi ship to recall those on board, then he checked the ship's logs. "The Dark Matter has left the sector, Captain... I have a heading of 142 by 008 and travelling at warp five, Sir."

Gol'Khar thought for a second or two, then he said, "When the crew are back, set course for interception. That damned woman is not going to get away from me and survive. I want the latinum they have stolen, and I want the head of the Administrator, now move." Gol'Khar announced as his temper quickly shortened.

With the crew now returned at long last, the Klingon vessel cloaked again and suddenly jumped to warp. One way or another, Captain Gol'Khar made a silent promise that he was going to have his revenge on those who thought they could cheat him.
