ON : Phase One
Day: 01 Time: 17.15 Scene: Guest Quarters Deck 5 - ISS Dark Matter So far, so good, Lars thought to himself as he slowly began to examine his newly acquired surroundings, situated on board the mirror version of his own ship. Playing the part of the Administrator had proceeded as expected so far, but even so, he didn't want to become complacent and lose the advantage gained in taking on this new role. Being a captain had its advantages, he knew almost every square metre of his own ship, and this one on close inspection, was seemingly identical. He walked across to the entrance door and examined the wall to the right of the aperture. The expected panel was there, and he knew how to gain access to what was hidden behind it, therefore, getting free of this room presented him with no difficulty at all, assuming that this was the way he would use to leave it. Fortunately, this wasn't the only exit, though few people outside maintenance crews were aware that another existed. Lars went into the bathroom and walked over to the sonic shower cubicle. He allowed himself the briefest of smiles before reaching out to grip the panelling at the rear of the shower heads. Gripping it in his right hand, Lars pulled sharply, whereupon the whole panel opened to allow him access to the maintenance crawl way beyond. The space he had just climbed into wasn't exactly spacious, but it did allow enough room for someone to work in without being overly cramped. Moving to his right and after a few metres, Lars reach a hatchway, something that should give him access to the maze of jeffries tubes that threaded their way throughout the entire ship. Within a short crawl, he reached a panel and opened it. Here, Lars found a profusion of power relays, distribution nodes and couplings, things that offered him a certain amount of command, if he were to put his knowledge of them to good use. Reaching inside the Administrators tunic, Lars withdrew a small rolled-up container that held a number of useful instruments. Laying them out on the metal grid flooring, he removed a sonic screwdriver and applied it to the circuitry that governed the forcefield acctuator. Within five minutes, the captain had successfully blocked off a number of the ship's decks, but at the same time making sure that this allowed himself free and easy access to all of the levels he needed to get to while working his way around the ship. Once his tasks were complete, he could close the forcefields behind him once more. What he would have liked to have done, was to flood the whole ship with anesthezine gas, but this wasn't possible from his current position, and anyway, Lars had no way of protecting himself once it had been released. Before he could do anything like this, he would need to make his way down to deck 7 and main engineering, for besides blocking the crew from getting at him, he would have to seal off all doors and hatches from the main terminal. This would be the trickiest part of his task, for if he didn't close off the ship entirely, he would likely run into any number of the ship's crew members. Moving along, Lars made his way to one of the ship's climbing junctions, where at this point he could shut off the turbo lifts. Of course, he was aware that by this time, the ship's XO would be aware that something was wrong, though it wouldn't necessarily point to himself as being the root cause of the problem. After a further twenty minutes, Lars found himself in engineering, well not exactly in it, but within its walls. He peeked between the now partly open hatchway and tried to see who, if anyone, was in the engineering department. There were two junior officers at the main computer terminal, both talking about what he took to be their captain, their words were not exactly endearing. Lars gathered that this June Craig wasn't very popular on board. Shortly, they both exited the department leaving it seemingly empty. He listened quietly, but nothing came to his hearing except the sounds of the warp core chamber and the mountain of electronic equipment that surrounded it. Lars pushed the hatch to the floor and climbed into the room, remaining alert for anyone he may have missed. Seconds later, he had accessed the main computer terminal and began to complete the necessary tasks to bring the ship under his control. Suddenly, Red Alert sounded. Lars quickly climbed back inside the jeffries tubes and closed the hatch behind him, but not before he had secured a communicator from the top of a console, plus a phaser from the nearby arms locker. He was now ready to put the second phase of his plan into action. OFF : Captain Lars Persson CO USS Dark Matter
