The Heart of a Peak District Community Tideswell Autumn 2007
![]() View from the Market Place
The market place, although now disused, still retains a feeling of
having once been the centre of commerce in Tideswell. As with the
rest of the village, it displays a fine and varied selection of old
buildings to interest the visitor.

This steep lane gives access to Summer Cross, part of the Buxton and
Sheffield Turnpike route that crosses Monk's Dale, close to the
Nature Reserve and the Limestone Way that runs the length of the dale
and beyond. These are about a mile and a quarter to the west of the
village.
